The "trends" you see just above your visitor bar chart :-
......indicates whether your stats are going up or down when compared to the previous month, corresponding 7 day block, or 24 hour block.
"This Month"
This compares this calendar month's average daily visitors to the previous calendar month's average daily visitors.
"Last 7 Days"
This compares the last 7 days (including right up to the minute you are viewing the stats) with the previous 7 days (i.e. 7 to 14 days ago)
"Last 24 Hours"
This compares the last 24 hours (including right up to the minute you are viewing the stats) with the corresponding 24 hour period this time last week (as often weekly trends are strong, e.g. weekends quiet, weekdays busier....it's good to compare to this time last week).
