Contextual links: quick and easy boost to search engine rankings

Here is an example of contextual links:-

contextual links

The green underlined text are contextual links - links within a body of text. Search engines love these types of links and for that love, they reward such links with better rankings. The pages these links go to will rank better than simply linking to them from a list of links.

Make a start by looking at your home page text. Do you have any contextual links there? If not, then add some! Add some to the most important pages on your website (we're talking internal links here!). Your home page is invariably the most valuable page of your website, and links FROM your home page give a lot of value to the pages they link TO. Make sure your contextual internal links go to pages you want to rank higher - what you deem to be your most important pages on your website.

You will see improvements in the rankings of the pages the internal contextual links point to - pretty much guaranteed (particularly if these links are on your home page).

As always, go easy on this. Don't spam / over-use this technique. People are reading your text, and you need to compel them to do things on your website - so keep your text natural.
