Google video units for Adsense

From today, website owners in the US who make money from Google Ads can also install "video ads" onto their website. The videos are taken from youtube.com, and ads are placed above and below the video. Website owner, video maker, and Google all take a share of the money if an ad above or below the video is clicked on. It's not known when non-US website owners can install such video units to their site.

Inside AdSense: Introducing video units

The video units come in rather large sizes, with the smallest unit being 400 x 415 pixels in height (see example on this page). This means you're giving up a significant amount of space to (ultimately) advertising. Too big to wrap text around it, or put in a sidebar column. It will be interesting to see how this works in the US over the following months and the kind of conversion rates experienced by site owners.
